Developmental coordination disorder (DCD), also known as dyspraxia, is a condition that starts in childhood and makes it harder to plan, coordinate and carry out movements. Children usually understand what they want to do but find it difficult to perform the movement smoothly and accurately. It is relatively common among school-age children and is not related to intelligence.

Our Approach

We use task-oriented therapy: identifying the specific activities your child finds difficult, breaking them into smaller steps, practising them in a fun, structured way and building them back into the whole skill. We also adapt tasks and tools (such as pencil grips) where helpful.
