Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about appointments, treatment, technology, tele-rehab, fees, insurance and privacy at Neuromatics.

Appointments & your first visit

Do I need a doctor’s referral to book?

No. You can book an assessment directly. If you have reports, scans, a discharge summary or a prescription, please bring them — they help our team plan your rehabilitation.

How do I book an appointment?

Book online on our appointment page, call or WhatsApp +91 9101 101 102, use the chat on this website, or request a callback. Not sure which program you need? Try the Symptom Finder.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Any medical reports, X-ray/MRI/CT scans, discharge summary, current prescriptions and your doctor’s precautions (for example after surgery). Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring any walking aid, brace or splint you use.

How long does the first visit take?

Plan for about 60 minutes. The first visit is a detailed assessment — history, movement, strength, balance and function — followed by goal-setting and your first treatment where appropriate. Follow-up sessions are usually 45–60 minutes.

What are your timings?

Mon – Sat: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM · Sunday closed. Tele-rehabilitation sessions follow the same hours.

Is the centre wheelchair accessible?

Yes. The centre in Baner, Pune has parking, lift access and wheelchair-friendly spaces. Let us know when booking if you need help on arrival.

Can a family member or caregiver come along?

Yes — we encourage it. Caregiver training is an important part of many programs, especially after stroke, brain injury and for children.

Can I choose my specialist?

Yes. You can book with a particular specialist on their profile page, which shows their live appointment slots, or choose “first available specialist” for the earliest appointment.

Treatment & programs

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your condition, goals and how long you have had the problem. After the assessment your specialist will recommend a plan — for example a few sessions for simple positional vertigo, or a longer program after stroke or spinal cord injury — and review progress regularly using measurable outcomes.

How often should I attend?

Typically 2–6 sessions a week for neurological and post-surgical rehabilitation, and 1–3 sessions a week for most musculoskeletal problems, together with a home exercise program.

Will physiotherapy be painful?

Some exercises can feel challenging and mild, temporary soreness is normal as you get stronger. Treatment should not cause sharp or lasting pain — tell your therapist and they will adjust the intensity.

Will I get exercises to do at home?

Yes. Every patient receives a personalised home program, and caregivers are trained where needed, so progress continues between sessions.

Is it too late to start rehabilitation months or years after a stroke or injury?

No. The fastest improvement often happens in the first few months, but many people continue to make meaningful gains in walking, balance, hand use and independence much later with the right program.

Do you treat children?

Yes. Our paediatric team provides play-based, family-centred therapy for cerebral palsy, developmental delay, muscular dystrophy, coordination and walking difficulties and other developmental conditions.

Do you offer pelvic floor and women’s health physiotherapy?

Yes. Our Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation program helps with bladder and bowel leakage, pelvic pain, prolapse symptoms, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, and incontinence after prostate surgery — in a private, respectful setting.

Which conditions do you treat?

Neurological conditions (stroke, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s, MS, GBS, brain injury), paediatric conditions, musculoskeletal pain and sports injuries, post-surgical and joint-replacement rehabilitation, vertigo and balance disorders, and pelvic health. See all specialities.

Rehabilitation technology

Is robotic or exoskeleton therapy suitable for everyone?

Not for everyone. Suitability depends on your condition, body size, bone health, skin, heart and blood-pressure status and goals. Your specialist decides at assessment whether technology such as the exoskeleton, robotic gait trainer, FES or VR will help you.

Is rehabilitation technology safe?

Yes, when used by trained clinicians with the right patient selection. Sessions are supervised one-to-one, with safety harnesses, monitoring and gradual progression.

Does technology replace the physiotherapist?

No. Technology allows more repetitions and precise measurement, but it is always combined with hands-on therapy and clinical decision-making by your therapist.

Tele-rehabilitation

What is tele-rehabilitation?

Live, one-to-one video sessions with a Neuromatics therapist at home. It suits many follow-up programs, home exercise progression, caregiver coaching and patients who live outside Pune.

What do I need for a tele-rehab session?

A smartphone, tablet or laptop with a camera, a stable internet connection, a little clear floor space and, if needed, a family member to help. We send a link before the session.

Can my first assessment be online?

For some conditions, yes. For complex neurological or post-surgical cases we usually recommend an in-person assessment first, after which sessions can continue online where suitable.

Fees, payments & insurance

How much does treatment cost?

Fees depend on the type of assessment, the program and whether technology-assisted sessions are included. Our care team shares the current fee schedule and any package options when you book, before treatment starts.

What payment methods do you accept?

UPI, debit and credit cards, net banking and cash at the centre. Itemised invoices are provided for every payment.

Do you offer treatment packages?

Yes. Multi-session packages are available for longer programs. Package terms, validity and refunds are explained in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Is physiotherapy covered by insurance?

Often, especially as post-hospitalisation treatment or under OPD cover. Our desk helps with documents and claims — see Insurance & TPA.

How do I cancel or reschedule?

Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance by phone or WhatsApp. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.

Privacy, safety & more

Is my health information kept confidential?

Yes. Your information is used only to provide care and is accessed by authorised Neuromatics staff. Read our Privacy Policy.

Can I request a therapist of the same gender?

Yes. For sensitive assessments such as pelvic health, please mention your preference when booking and we will do our best to arrange it. You can also bring a companion.

Is Neuromatics an emergency service?
